Fidèle (May 2003–January 2016), a Belgian yellow Labrador Retriever, made famous due to his habit of sleeping on a windowsill facing the Groenerei canal in Bruges, Belgium.
The short story is that our storage company got bought out in Nov/Dec by another storage company that charges:
- £30 extra a month - in a different manner (lump sum at the beginning of the month, not smaller amounts weekly) - extra £15 for insurance since they took insurance out of the original price
we put in our two weeks notice to move to a different company, but since the bank took all of december (due to the holiday rush) to send us our statements, we were down a form of ID that meant we couldn’t properly cancel the unit and move to the new one which means i have to pay for two storage units for a month and the moving van all at once (i was only supposed to hold the other unit for a month, not two, certainly not three).
as you can imagine, this buyout/need to move units due to it/delay in moving units due to bank & postal issues was not budgeted forand while i can just about cover one unit at £300 for one month and a move about £180 by the skin of my teeth, i cannot in any way shape or form cover a second unit at £375, let alone both for the two or three months it may or may not take before my mother and i finally finally get our inheritance and become fully financially independent of this family.
this is on top of a lot of other little things that are piling up lately, like the fact that we’re still being kept in this house as paperwork stalls due to possible ID (ours) theft and i still haven’t been given back the £2000 i spent a year scrimping and saving for just this sort of situation but that i was manipulated into spending on the house with the promimse of getting it back almomst immediately seven months ago.
our money is running out, essentially. we were promised we’d be out in august last year, but we’ve been kept here the entire time instead due to a litany of mistakes and lies and the money i’ve managed to save is being frittered away every month on bills i shouldn’t be paying since we shouldn’t be here.
this issue is finally something i literally cannot work my way through or around because i just don’t have the money to cover this latest fuck up and i don’t have the time or energy to physically do my usual work because i literally just got done with another several hospital and GP trips due to stress giving me another chronic condition i just have to live my life with now + it took over a month to find a medication that didn’t give me side effects i couldn’t live with.

They swapped out Julian’s sprites in the old books too, so I went back and grabbed all of them
I’m already used to his new face, it looks so nice! A lot of people observed he looks more well rested in the new sprite, but I actually think he looks more sleepy now (particularly in the “default” sprites)
Basically all his expressions have a little more “oomf” to them and I’m a fan
